I've been in Tampa my entire life and have only seen pythons in a pet shop.
Phew! I WAS WATCHING A DOCO TODAY AND SAW HOW BIG SOME IN THE EVERGLADES CAN GAT...HUGE THINGS THAT CAN DEVOUR ALIGATORS! THERE WAS ONE CASE WHERE THE PYTHON CONSTRICTED THE GATOR, AND STARTED TO SWALLOW IT, AND IT WOKE AND RIPPED THE SNAKES BELLY UP....I WAS LIKE EWWW! APPARENTLY GATORS CAN SLOW THEIR HEART BEAT TO 2 BEATS A MINUTE, AND IT CONFUSES PREDATORS, AND PREY.
oops....caps...sorry folks!
Very beautiful, very nice.... I would like to have such a corner too![]()
Can I move in Connie? What a beautiful paradise you have created with your orchids there. Yes, you so should get that sign. If I had access to a nice router, I would just make you one and send it to you. Perfect idea!!
cheers,

I have never seen one...the biggest snake i've seen in my back yard is a three foot black snake that is tending to the rodent population. The area where I live would be very conducive to a snake. It's a wooded area, the water isn't too far away and we have alot of what they would like to eat in the way of rats and rabbits and such. But you rarely hear of them being trapped in this area. It's more likely to find these farther south in the everglades. If I ever do come across one, you all should hear me scream all the way to Michigan!
The only time we hear about gators here is during mating season. There is a botanical garden up the road we like to go to and there are signs all over that say "Don't feed the alligators". lol Really? And someone had to make a sign for that?? But yeah...they started putting out those pics of the python and gator to educate people not to let their pet snakes go. The first time I saw the picture of the python split open and the gator body hanging out I remembered why I've never been in the swamps here looking for orchids.
Pretty. It looks very exotic. I could sit there all day I think.
