    Whatever it turns out to be. Its certainly a beauty! All these vandaceous plants are opening up a whole new side of orchid culture to me. Thanks so much for sharing.

    Definitely has to be a hybrid among Rhyncostylis gigantea and one of the Aerides's. Who needs a name if I could get one of these beauties You need to convince your friend to give one of the smaller growths

    Could the Aerides parent be Ae. lawrenceanum??
