Cymbidium erythrostylum

This is the only Cym that I grow. Very easy, intermediate temperature and beautiful flowers and blooms from May to August. Last year, i feed too much nitrogen fertilizer and got more new growths instead of flower. One interesting thing is unlike many other cymbidium species this one flower, while the new growth is maturing so you got to cut down on feeding and keep it as cool as you can during that periods. Once the growth is completely mature, better luck next season. =)

The cymbidium blooms are pretty! Too bad about the number of flowers. Hopefully next year it will bloom much better for you.

Under optimal conditions I get about 11 flowers on a spike at least two times a year. Mine is in bud right now in fact. It always surprises me for some reason. I look and see no spike and then bingo there's a new spike

It finally opened. Toothpick has been flying. Now my 4N of it is in bud too!!

Both of them are beautiful. Pity can't bloom them in the lowlands.

No it's an upland. But the hybrid Devon Odyssey will bloom lowland. It's pink rather than white.
