Default My Oncidium lanceanum or Ladda 'Salaya'

Hello all, here is my supposedly (came labelled) mule ear Oncidium lanceanum in full bloom, usually it blooms twice a year, but this year it skipped one blooming but has put up a fantastic show now with 20+ blooms. They are heavy in fragrance texture and color. A friend recently suggested that this plant was not a species but a hybrid called Oncidium or Trichocentrum Ladda 'Salaya'. After searching on google, I indeed found pictures looking very similar to my flowers, but I found only Trichocentrum Ladda Sunset on the RHS no Salaya, anyone has any insights into this?? Anyways here are the pictures.

I can't help you with this but there is a Thai hybrid named Ladda Sunset which has very strong lanceanum influence in its parentage.

    BTW this is lovely .

Perhaps Trt. Ladda Sunset - which Orchid wiz says is a synonym for Oncidium Ladda Sunset. I'll write more later - just off to an Orchid fair.

It's about 80-90% lanceanum, with small equal parts of splendidum and bicallosum. Makes a very colourful plant ! Wish I had one.

Thanks Geoff and Yew for helping me out, I also think it has a very high percentage and influence of lanceanum if not completely. Ladda Sunset is much more orange from the pictures I could google, but may be yes it is a variant as hybrids can be variable. And thanks everyone for looking and liking this beauty.

Yes Pat, they like all the heat, light and humidity, they take cattleya conditions very well.
