Okay, folks, this is what I have to go on in id'ing this awesome, specimen-sized catt-type. I hope this will appeal to the orchid detectives and find its identity. Thanks for helping.

"They" don't pay any attention to these ancient catts that are left over from much earlier owners of the nursery - most have no tags at all, but I am thrilled to think it might be blue! BTW, I googled Catt. Portia and Catt Porcia, as well, taking a wild guess on the tag. Apparently these actually exist, huh? Can you make out something like "dygbyana" on the tag, too? I'm starting to see things that aren't there - time to rest, maybe.

I see Portia. It is a beautiful, primary hybrid. I will bet you money it is blue

The ancient catts are what they should be paying attention to. Old crosses that are almost lost to cultivation are worth big money. In my opinion, they are the most beautiful. They are not cloned to death.

You should go back and look at the oldies. Look for tagged ones and honestly, Zozzl (Pat) is a wealth of info on old Catts.

According to me the tag says 'Portia Maybe'. And from the looks of it may be a Portia. I do not think it is a Porcia, Porcia pseudobulbs are taller and leggier, when it blooms we can tell, by the way my Portia is also in bud.

Thank goodness for that pathetic tag! I, too, thought the 2nd word might be "maybe" - but I dismissed it, thinking what kind of orchid expert would tag a plant as a "maybe"? Sometimes things are literally right under your nose.... Thanks to both for the id. I am about as excited as I was when my first heirloom catt, the "Lazarus" one, burst into bloom after being cleaned and organized to within an inch of its not-so-little life.
