Doubts Pasphiopedilum anitum

My Paphiopedilum anitum stems from Sun Moon Orchids in an Orchid Show organized in Rome. I believe that to expose plants in an event of these type, already has to have passed control of CITE and in this manner, every buyer in Rome, has bought a legal plant. Not? ???.. What a lovely blossom on that plant. As for being legal, it certainly had to pass the requirements of the Italian Department of Agriculture for them to exhibit and sell their plants. So you are perfectly legal. And lucky to have such a nice plant.

not sure how it works in europe however, in Australia, people can travel through the airports and carry with them flasks of seedlings without the usual paperwork requirements, so I guess once someone has done that, it would be legal to have the plants in the country...

personally I think CITES as it applies to plants is a huge joke! Whoever thought of it in the first place hopefully had the right interests in mind, however, in this instance as it applies to plants, I do think that it is not really serving the world community... they would be better off spending their money on educating the various nations around the world on better agricultural practices...

anyways, there's my two cents worth!
