This is a wonderful, long term endeavor. Almost any worth while accomplishment takes years, but by the end of this you should have the patience of a saint. Hopefully someday I will see a 'WOW factor' resulting bloom posted here. I also wish you much luck in making a improved hybrid, somthing beautiful, but vigorous and healthy. AL
Just curious. How long does it usually take for a pod just like your pic to have its very first flower?
Sorry, Jason. I did not mean to hijack your thread.
Hi Naoki,
Dont worry about hijacking the thread its all relevent to the post.
From what i read this pod could take upto 18 months to grow 2 years in flask and about another 4 years to flower so all in all im hoping for something realistically in around 7 n half to 8 years.
long Long time but if its viable seed i will be looking forward to a flowering vanda on my 45th to 46th Birthday lol
Definitely a pod soon getting huge within a month may exceed more than 2 -3 inches and take care, avoid from caterpillar/mealy bugs/. Congratulations Jason
Jason easily can get more than 10 flasks based from my experience.
Wow thanks for letting me know cant wait to see how it gets on now Cheers Zainal
Good luck Jason you need to wait at least in the tropical country the maturity of seed pod will be faster about 5 to 7 months depending on the hybrids/species in contrast at temperate country maybe more you need to wait patiently.
