What is the sealant I should use on the orchid roots after they're clipped?
I never use any sealant on roots if they are broken or clipped. All I have to do is provide them more air. Sometimes I dip the roots and the plant in fungicide solution but only in severe case of root rot.
Just curious, why are you clipping the roots? And which type of orchids?
Clipping off dead ones/parts of course. And it's for a Phal and a Paph.
What is the fungicide you use? My Phal got an infection because I didn't have any and I'm worried it will get another or it'll get worse or something. It had some asty rot because the store put it in water.
I use Physan, I know others use Daconil or Cleary's, but I am not sure if they use them on roots - they're pretty strong. Louis would know.
I don't use any sealant or fungicide on roots at all. Like Tanya, I just let them air dry. They'll scab over within half an hour if you leave them exposed to air.
Okay. :3
