Hay there, its good to hear you care so much about this Phal. The pics are not up try using a software to resize them to web formant and upload. Sounds as if there is a bit of overwatering going on if the pot reek, and crown rot also. Don't worry about the cut as it will heal over. As for the spikes its done so just think of nursig ur Phal back into health. If you do repot remember to use Orchid mix very fast draining don't be scared to add some pumice or crused shells for extra aeration. Hope to see pics of ur guy to give you better tips.
