As you can see, it has not been exactly floriferous or me, but if it has Aranachnis blood then that is not surprising in UK light and temperatures ; but I have been experimenting with "making" vandaceous plants flower - on the theory that many need a temperature drop ( easily provided by leaving them out overnight). I seem to get spikes on say the usual large flowered Vandas which "ought" to be flowering again, with say 3 or 4 nights in the low teens - centrigrade- say temps of 10-12 for example. This one had that treatment three times at intervals of a month and then started swelling several nodes in the right positions, and one finally made it.
I guess the next thing will be to take a top cutting from it , since it is already some 60-70cm high -another technique I have finally mastered ( keiki-paste is the magic clue here ) and then try my technique for flowering again when I have a plant more in keeping with the spike size.
Flowers are a good 3 inches high by the way.
A name might be possible from some of our friends in places where these things are more common than in UK,(?) and will be appreciated .
