Interesting waiting to see full bloom.
Congratulations, hope we see a bloom soon. I have several sheaths on my Blc. Chia lin New City and one of the sheaths is redish like yours. Do you know why they get redish in color?
Thanks!
I guess I do. I think it is because of sun exposure. Some Catts (and other orchids), when exposed to high levels of light which is so common here in Florida, may get reddish leaves and pseudobulbs or even sheaths. As far as I know the red or purple color is not a bad thing; it is like a self-defense or self-made sunscreen. However, some plants don't get the reddish color when exposed to a strong sunshine but rather burn which makes me think they are less light-tolerant. I might be wrong and will appreciate if someone corrects my answer.
The flowers seem so fragile when they begin to open.
