Quick Question

So, my Phalaenopsis ('s, ii)? just aren't doing well, they're not dying or anything (I don't think), but they're not really growing either, I feel.

However, my Dendrobium is growing really quickly, it's kind of ironic, but it was in my opinion my weakest plant.

Perhaps my apartment is just conducive to growing Dendrobiums? Has anyone else determined that their conditions are good for growing a certain type of plant? It's only a hypothesis now, but i plan on buying more Dend's and seeing how well they do.

Sam, before you go buy more Dendrobium, you should check on the growing condition (temperature, light, humidity...) for each individual plant...Dendrobium is a huge genus. There are over a thousand species in that genus and counless hybrids, and the growing conditions are all different. Some are intermediate-warm growers and some are cool-intermediate/cold grower. Some need good/strong light but some grow in the dark...
There are always certain group of orchids that will do particular well in your growing condition. For windowsill, Neof. falcata should do okay, hybrid Phals should do fine in the house...
In general, Phals and Dens have different growing conditions. Phals needs less light and more moisture...and that might explain why one group of plant is doing better than the other (under the same growing condition).

I've got Hybrid Phals, and maybe they're just acclimating to their new pots, but they don't seem to be doing so well.

The Dendrobium though, seems to be loving it, haha.

I checked the culture sheet for Kingianum and it seems as though it should be dead, judging by how/where it grows in Australia, but i'll just enjoy it surviving, for now.
