Lovely Diane, all the picotee, mottling, and variegations on leaves certainly gives growing flowering plants another dimension to enjoy them.
Thanks for sharing.

How often do African Violets bloom? That plant sure looks healthy and large!Originally Posted by Diane

That is an interesting one...I've never seen one with the white edging like that. Does it have a name?
BD-I can't speak for anyone else, but mine bloom at least 6 times per year.

Thanks Matt!

Pretty varigated leaves , bet the blooms are too . Gin
Oh you do have a pic of your AV on here. (I asked about it in another thread). Lovely leaves!
This one is putting up buds, should be open in a couple weeks. Most of my AVs bloom almost constantly - like Matt said 6 times a year. Sometimes I nip off the flowers and buds to give the plants a rest. As soon as this one blooms out I will post a picture, the flowers are such a striking maroon color.
Matt - I don't know the name, never saw one like it and it had no tag, so the grower sold it cheap.
6 times a year? Mine bloomed only once a year, or none at all () except one that's been blooming nonstop for months. I don't know what's wrong with the nonbloomers. Their leaves are fine...maybe not enough light?
By the way, the leaves are really cool! I've seen pics of colorful leaves like that but never one in a store.
MORE LIGHT!!!! (But not direct sun). Try a little bloom food - not too much! One like 0-10-10.
