How often do you water yours? I have mine tacked onto treefern and I have to soak every other day. Mist twice a day on workdays and more than that on days off. Sure was easier outside where I could just use the hose and patio misters!

Mine has been getting misted by the towers for about 15 minutes (longer when one of us forgets to turn them off for an hour), two or three times a day. Every three or four days when I water the cattleya I soak it good and fertilize. I have begun misting fertilizer water after misting as well as fertilizing when watering. I also add a little physan to the water as well to stave off infections...which in the beginning was a big problem with this plant. In fact another bulbo I recently bought was losing leaves until I started hitting it regular with anti fungal stuff. I am now spraying all the time instead of once every couple months. If I fill a spray bottle a few drops of physan always goes in now. Live...kill plants...and learn.
I certainly don't fertilize enough...that anti-fungal idea is great. I have problems with some of my other bulbos as far as fungus is concerned. I wonder if such a low concentration would be safe indoors?!? I'd love to start incorporating a bit into some misting water.
PS...just realized during everyones daily inspection that my Elizabeth Ann is 'masketed'. It's the 'Lovely Elizabeth' that is on the treefern.

Very beautiful bulbos.
Connie that is awesome
I'm not sure, I misted this morning with the doors open to the greenhouse. When it got too strong I went outside and did things out there. It only takes a few minutes for the air borne mist to be down and I would think it's safe as long as you aren't breathing the mist of it.
Maybe a stinky orchid bloom, but gosh - it sure is beautiful!

mine are tacked onto the outer area of a fern basket that gets 5 minutes of drip irrigation every 8 hours...so the plant itself is just getting the runoff from the main pot, which has a mishmash of taiwanese fertz that i have yet to figure out the ratios for...i just but the one that have pictures of the plants i want to grow...that seems to work pretty well...
as for the stank, a philosophy i have long carried with me, if its rumored to stink, why go putting your face in it?
lovely blooms!
