From the pictures i've seen i'm not sure this is a Picta...anyone know about this little flower? I need a different camera, these are the best shots my digital could put out.

I am definitely not a mini expert, but the pleurothallis pictas I've seen seemed to have stems that reached way beyond the leaves - of course, it's all relative when you're talking about blooms you can only see through magnifying glasses - I think you'll need a macro lens if you want any closeups, Connie. Check out Branka's photos - they're pretty awesome and she really knows how to take a macro shot. Looks really healthy and lush, though - good growing! Have I mentioned I'm ready to move further south? Florida or Barbados - can't decide. It's really gloomy and chilly here and my plants are not happy about being stuck indoors - they remind me of small children.

It is not picta. Cute little species though.

Did I see a fully open flower? It will help if you can get a photo of it.

Connie, Tom is right: it is not Pleurothallis picta, however it is very beautiful: P.picta has inflorescences that are much much longer than the leaves. And it has several flowers on the flower steam that are more brownish. Can't help with ID.
