You mentioned you were going away after Christmas for a few weeks - given the most recent disaster that occurred while you were away, what are you going to do this time?

We employ a gardener in the little estate (6 houses) where I live, who mows the lawns, sweeps up the leaves ( a lot of mature trees)does any new planting we think about etc etc , and I am going to employ him ; I did ask him once before but he turned me down then - was too busy with the various regular contract jobs he has ; but now he has an employee or two - although he will look after my greenhouse himself. The estate is too small to need/justify a management company ( or we have thought them too expensive and too ineffecient) so we share out the jobs between the different houses - my immediate neighbour looks after the electrics ( gates, & lights) another one does the legal work - tax return for the income/expenditure , another one liases with the local town council abpout our trash collection, and so on . My job is instructing the gardener ; so it remains unsaid that if he messes up, his contract here is in danger . I hope that will make it as foolproof as it sounds !
