Well that's an interesting change up with color! Reminds me of Phal Hilo Lip in that regard. Be really neat, IMO, if they could take this further and whiten the lip even more while retaining the color of the petals.

Beautiful Cattleya species, the lip is gorgeous !
Another beauty! You have some lovely flowers.
An interesting name - suggest it comes from Canaima ! I didn't see any cattleyas when I was there,( did see some other orchids - and walked straight past a place where some Catesetums grew confident in the knowledge that there couldn't be any orchids there, the habitat is so unsuitable) and only a stroll away is "Orchid Island" which once had so many different species, and representatives of each, that there was no room for any other plant - so they say, and hence the name- alas, long since stripped . Nearby is a very high waterfall - could be Angel Falls - but I think we went there as part of a tour across Venezuela and into Brazil to celebrate my wife's 60th birthday - 23 years ago, and some details are a bit hazy now.......
post script to my last message ; I just looked it up - "grows along the rivers in Venezuela and Guyana"... well Canaima is not far from the place where the three countries meet - Venezuela, Brazil and Guyana . So I reckon my guess was right on the button."orchid Island" is of course an island in the river.
It's also quite near the tepui country - those weird mountains with sheer vertical sides, and flat tops - "The lost world" country. Hot-house orchids grow at their base - the "Gran Sabana" - a curious high lebvel plateau, and cool and even cold orchids on the tops - many thousand of feet higher. Guides will take you up - if fit and young - but it is a one week trip up and down again, with one night freezing on top ; I never did persuade my wife that it would make an interesting holiday..

Interesting trip there Geoff! One day I will get there!
Beautifully display of a cara blanca type or purpurea-striata type...
