The lip on that Trichoglottis orchid bloom is so white! Such nice contrast to the rich, dark color of the bloom. Very nice Wally!

Bruce, don't you know that I HATE photographing flowers with white labella? It's very easy to over-expose and blur the details, and as such, it takes me close to half an hour of patience and focus (no pun intended) just to get barely acceptable photos

Yes, half an hour for around 25 or so shots, only three of which I found acceptable enough. Actually I was supposed to upload all those 3, but for some reason only 2 appeared...

Just a little longer - like, for instance, 3 hours and 60 shots at every possible white balance, f/stop and shutter speed under every kind of lighting condition I can procure....

Actually, though, I just received a studio light tent set-up for Christmas with 3 80/400W bulbs (2 sidelights and a boom), and it's making a difference - only having to shoot one subject for 1 1/2 hours these days as I get used to it. I still prefer natural light, but that has its own complexities. What do you use for camera equipment - did you shoot this with a macro lens? The detail is phenomenal. (Of course, I just started with a DSLR about 6 months ago, so I'm still very new at this.)
