Spider web?

While repotting a phal that I recently purchased, I saw what appears to be a spider web down the leaf. Usually spiders will build their webs between leaves so I am suspicious this might be some other pest. I don't think my camera would be able to get close enough to post a picture.
Can anyone help me?

No. I think not a spider...I have a dim feeling of what it may be but can't focus on it- very distant recollection, you see. The point is: to be on the safe side do gently rub it off togrther with any little critter lurking underneath... and don't hold back- phals have a tough texture. You have probably done this already!

if it is a very thin spider web, watch out for red spider mites. They love Phals.

Well, it's a single strand of web on the top of a leaf. I have wiped it off and so far it has not returned. Thanks for your response.
