Trichoglottis brachiata etc...

I did say, in another thread, that I have a abud and would post a pic if and when it matured. Well here it is.
Not a wonderful flower ( slightly imperfect shape) ; and only one .
But hey - I have had the plant much less than a year, it grows - that root and the top couple of leaves are "mine" as well as the bud, and its only a beginner - ( the plant, not me) now its got the hang of things maybe it will go on to do better.
Here's hoping.
Obsevations on the correct name will be appreciated !

i had one of these and i must have done something to piss it off cuz it up and died faster than i could do anything to help it out, luckily they are terribly cheap here and i plan to give it another go soon...
i personally like it when the flowers come out a bit deformed...they are special in their own little way!

did you say you lost it to summer heat? so they dont like heat? well that explains why mine kicked the bucket in a matter of days... i love the grower i bought mine from for the obscene variety of stuff he has, but he does tend to be a bit "vague" on the growing details...like when i bought my first vanilla from him and he had it mounted on a tree fern board... died real quick too...only then did i discover its best to just plant the damned thing in the ground!

I really would have thought that this would be ok on summer heat. Just got mine last Sunday with 1 flower. It's rainy season anyway here and it will not be for another year before the summer. so thanks bruce for mentioning the summer heat.

hi gabriela, does it get a mid-day sun as well? what's the temp looks like during summer? I know it should really be hot in there. In my place it could go as high as 35C in full mid-day sun.
