It looks like a seed pod is developing. Could anyone tell me what I do next?

1. Congratulate yourself,
2. Make a note to get my address so you can send me a compot of seedlings when they are unflasked in a year or two,
3. Start researching flasking labs or DIY'ing, if you are scientifically inclined, and
4. Wait.
Is that the bloom that turned white?
Trish,
Yes, it is the one turned into white. The pollens came from the one in the reddish-brown flower ( V. bensonii x V. pumila ).
Of course, I will put your name down on to the list when the babies are ready to leave the house. This is ONLY WHEN I am patient enough to go through the process. I have been known to kill and/or compost the plants when I get bored.
Hi Naoki what you need to do are:
1.Document the date of pollination usually for vanda in Malaysia maturity approx 5 to 7 months.
2, Protect from caterpillar or any bugs that going to chew the sweet seedpod.
3, Think are you going to harvest as green seedpod or allow the pod to split by itself.
4.Make arrangement for germination using whatever media which is suitable for vanda
5.Observe carefully the growing of tiny seedling from brown turn to green color.
6. Once they germinate wait another few more months to transfer into another growing media (one bottle can put into 10 to 20 young seedling)
7.Finally if the young seedling is big enough you can trade to Trish as she requested from you.
Good luck Naoki. Zain
OK, LOL so maybe my list was a little out of order, but it looks like an interesting cross and I wanted to make sure I expressed an interest early!
Naoki, I hope you don't get bored in the next 2 years. From pollenation through flasking and replating to the time the seedlings are ready for deflasking, that's about how long you are in for. Oh, and another 3ish years until first blooming, at least.
Sometimes I wonder if I will still be caring for orchids 5 years from now. I am not a long-range planner, that's part of what keeps me from playing matchmaker with flowers.
Trish,
Bruce must keep this forum for anther ( at least ) 5 years. lol
I wil do my best not to get bored/tired of looking at it unless I send it out for the next step.
