Is my Phal orchid dying????

Hi everyone!! I'm new to this forum
I bought a phal orchid with flowers three weeks ago. Today i just notice that the baby leave turns yellow and dies so i rip it off the phal. The other leaves do not look healthy either. I'm just wondering if my phal is dying. If it does, is there anyway i can do to save it? Thanks alot for your responses.

Looks fine to me, the baby leaves will drop off, because they only live for a certian period-up to 14months in some cases. Then the plant grows more and has no use for the older leaves so it sucks them dry of nutrients and drops them. As for the other leaves looking a bit droopy, i can see no signs of root rot, apart from that yellow root, which can cause it. So maybe just a bit more often in terms of watering. I prefer to flush mine out when i water, about once a week. You just sit it under the tap and let the pot fill with water and keep it running for about 10 mins. Then you need to stand it on the metal bench next to the sink and let it drain THOUROUGHLY. Usually overnight will do it. Doing this once a week where i live (NZ, our climate is pretty much the same throughout) ensures the roots stay moist and green And it also allows them to dry a bit between waterings.

What Jordan said plus do not let water stand in the crown of the plant. When you've finished watering make sure to tip the plant a bit sideways to make sure that any water sitting in the top of the plant drains out so you won't get crown rot. I also usually dip a piece of paper paper towel in the crown to wick away any residual mositure just to be safe. - martha

I usually blow as hard as I can several times into the crown to blow away any water that got by accident into the crown during watering. I find that is just like in nature how the wind would dry it out.

i agree with Jordan plus humidity tray can help dehydrate.good luck
