Ludisia Pod experience needed????

So I have a problem....lol....my Ludisia discolor is pregnant with two pods growing.....anyone have experience with these orchid pods and such???.....i want to grow it and experiment...heheh ......ok maybe not cook it but now this random icon is making me hungry....lol.hahahahahah :P

Definitely would not be worth sending it out to be flasked. However, if you had any interest in home/kitchen flasking this would be something to experiment with. Can't remember, Andrew, whether there is an article on OT about it but I do know I've come across several articles when I've Googled it.

Thanks Bruce and Pavel.....Glad i could give you a chuckle Bruce..haha........yeah its deff not worth me sending it out for someone else to play with....lol....i want to have the fun!!....I have looked up flasking before when i pollinated my Lc. Haw Yuan Angel with Enc. Traci Sellers. Pod grew for 7 months, had everything set up for troy mayers, and then it got water on it and rotted....its going to be 20 years till both of these flower again at the same time JK....lmao...jesshhh Orchids!! cant live without them, cant have enough of them...haha......But yes pavel i want to home flask it. I think it will give me some good experience for the next time when i actually want a pod to grow.....Just wondering on a whim if anyone had done this before with L. discolor and maybe knew the pod times. I know there is a chart somewhere online in my bookmarks. If you saw how many orchid book marks i had, you'd prob agree that we are all orchids geeks...haha.........ill see if anyone pops up with some random info on here while i dig through the net Thanks

Unfortunately, the only seed capsule harvesting timeline I have does not include the jewel orchids. You will likely have to play it by ear -- check the pod weekly and when it starts to lose the green, try harvesting then.

Thanks Pavel...tho i do have to say the pod is not green, its looking white and fuzzy. Most pods are green tho :P This should be very interesting then....hmmm ill have to post some pictures soon..thanks for the help Pavel

I read once that terrestrial orchid seeds will sometimes sprout if you plant them in the same pot as the mother plant. I don't know if you want to try that with some of the seeds.
