Hey smurphr,

You'll need to bring lots of sunblock specially when visiting the sandy, beaches of the Philippines! The island of Palawan alone is already a handful .... so much more for other places like Batangas and Boracay. Then there are the cool, mountainous regions of the cordilleras where Baguio, Benguet and Quezon provinces are located .... lots of orchids in those areas too!

There's really so much more to see and so many places but unfortunately so little time ....

im in need of a vacation... im thinking 3-4 weeks...budget travel...but making the most of it...i dont want to just sit on the beach at boracay and eat lobster while getting my wallet polished... i know too many phils to want just that...i want to really experience the country, yall are an amazing people with an equally amazing country!

Palawan would be a good place if you don't want to just sit on the beach in Boracay.

Palawan's natural resources are more diverse and so is that of Camiguin Island in Northern Mindanao (which is still unspoilt by commercial tourism) including Bohol near Cebu. Eco-Tourism is the name of the game here in the Philippines and the locals are now hard bent on preserving the natural resources and richness of whatever remains of these places ..... specially with all the natural calamities that have happened recently.
