I used s/h briefly for a catt, and was so disgusted by the results that I vowed never to try it again.
I am sure some people do well with s/h for certain catts. I am not one of those people.
I imagine that s/h (with a reservoir) would work well for many catts during active growth, although some will still want to dry out between waterings (especially the species). I think that a constant source of moisture is a very dangerous thing for catts when they are not actively growing. Maybe the minicatts that don't really have pronounced rest periods will do fine, but if the plant has a real rest period, that source of moisture is a disaster waiting to happen.
