Empty spaces are for good reason, no major water runoff from plants hanging above. Neat freak ???????, not really, just cheezed off from past not being able to find a plant when you want to. Also, each genera can be placed in the house in its own section & be treated according to culture requirement, within reason.
Thanks for the kind comments folks. I can almost hear the domestics happening about updating growing areas from here. Good thing I live a long way away.
Connie, its the only way to water for the hobbyist, it makes you look at every plant so if there is anything going wrong you can see it & do something about it there & then. Permanent Auto watering causes more unnecessary plant losses than anything else. Observation of all plants is critical.

Roy, your orchids house has many plants and you maintained it manually - yet I can see all the plants are so healthy.
