I am not really very sure about the identification of this plant. It could be L. parviflora or L viridiflora, as well. All three are endemic to the Philippines and surrounding Southeast Asian countries.

Usually from the cooler highlands. I had a hard time making it bloom. This pot is in my office, which has central air conditioning. Over a two-year period it had had only two applications of 20-20-20, and lately because I am so busy, went for days or even a week between waterings.

As you can see, the foliage looks horrible but hey, I got blooms.

Man you have so many fantastic blooms all the time. I think your greenhouse may be as big as your house or bigger

ntgerald, would you kindly divulge how many orchids you have?, if I may ask? Your growing is to be admired! I couldn't imagine myself maintaining as many as you do. Truly extraordinary. I always look forward to your pics.

I have no greenhouse. My main growing area is the garage, recently with newly replaced fiberglass roofing and two electric fans turned on during the daytime to make sure that plants are dried out before nightime, provide airflow, and flush out the heat that accumulates near the roof. Watering may probably be done twice during the hot dry months, but that involves only hosing them , lol.

Some plants are newly acquired, but I have very good hopes that they will thrive. Vandas and vandaceous like Aerides and Trichoglottis get the upper portions, and dends are off to the sides, but they get two pairs of huge shoplights for a few hours at the end of the day. Why am I confident the plants will thrive? The roots they have put out since I modified the place are huge and so fat. Some new vandas put out more than a dozen new roots.

I have a bit more than a hundred Philippine species, vars, and formas, around 350 plants in all. For example, I have 5 different types of P. equestris. And, I have no idea of just exactly how many kinds of Aerides I have, because some of them have not bloomed yet. Currently, about a dozen Aerides are in spike and shall start opening in a few days' time, maybe three different species, but I hope there would be more vars.

Thank you for appreciating my collection. This is my third year of growing orchids; I hope to transfer to a new house with a wider growing area next year.
