@jowben: I looked at flasks too. Costs more to ship than to buy. Then thought the time it would take to arrive would be disaster. Figured seeds safer. Less cash lost, more experience gained.![]()

I told myself I wouldn't buy anymore but I think I'm in the six range for the last two weeks. Any other 30 years olds that have this affliction? My friends must think I'm crazy!

Hi All,
Being from the land down under, what else, but a few good Aussie species:cym. canaliculatum (15 seedlings); den. tetragonum (4) and dockrillias - the rat tail orchid (4). I'll do a post later in the year on each when I've sourced some good photos.
Particularly pleased with the tetragonums as they were the var. giganteum. The tetragonum is the pollen parent of den. Hilda Poxon (seed being speciosum), an awesome orchid when grown well, picture attached of a friend's orchid.
Regards
George

ah AH! I say proudly; none, zippo, nada! If you said three weeks ago you would have caught me. 2 phals & 1 epi, then was given 4 more epis and 2 dens all in one day. Then maybe three days later the accomplice aka best friend and I went to an agricultural festival here, think we got 2 or 3 more including a ground orchid each, plus some fruit trees and herbs. Or do I have my days backwards? Humm...
Admittedly, I don't buy them that frequently since there aren't many good growers in my area. This month happened to be a local orchid show, and I found some decent stuff online.

Sorry, Sadie...I am not addicted to anything! I have not bought an orchid for myself in almost a year.Traded one, was given one as a gift, but I've not been so taken by one that I HAD to buy it...Betty
I haven't bought anything in a month or so. Yesterday I did see Vasco Roll On Red 'Somsri' as a blooming size "bag baby", but I said no. THAT was HAAAARD considering it's WAY up there on my wish list. But alas, I promised myself I wouldn't buy anything without seeing the actual plant in bloom. I have been looking for a nice red Ascocenda type, but I am holding out for something in bloom so that I know for sure that I LOVE the blooms it will produce.![]()

I just ordered a 6 plant special from a Seattle grower, all catts; and at last Tues's Tacoma Orchid Society meeting won three goodies: Paph wardii,C. intermedia var alba, and Epc Siam Jade. I envy the Florida orchid people-i am imagening a orchid nursery on every corner.

Just got 4 of em in a trade...3 last week and ine this week..traded some nepenthes seedlings for em.
Need to up my count. A friend just sent me 9 babies!!
