Yes, or you may call it Sarcolabium, whichever you prefer these days. I prefer Gastrochilus.

You know Geoff that before I read your post I saw the top photograph of your flowers and my first instinctive reaction was WOW whats this? My next reaction or actual thought was how unique and incredible the multiple flowers are. I really liked them. Then I read what Tom had to say and from here on out anyones photo of this orchid where the blooms are not this numerous and crowded will suffer in comparison with yours. What a carpet of color! AL

I was just about to do an update ; the experts think it is Gastrochilus acaulis - so, yes, you are correct.

What a fabulous dilemma - what do they call a group of leopards? A pride? Maybe "a bevy of beauties" is more apt. The closeup photo is incredibly masterful.
