    Default Psychopsis Mariposa 'GV' spike or new growth?

    I have a new growth starting on my psychopsis. I would love to think that is was a spike after I had to cut my last developing spike off a few months ago due to it turning black at the base. It arrived from the vendor with a 10cm spike and it grew maybe another two / three inches before I had to cut it off. Anyway, two months on I have spotted this new growth emerging from the base of the biggest bulb and obviously I would love to think that I have managed to bloom this psychopsis so, have I?

    Thanks for replying Bruce. I had almost forgotten that I posted on here since I never heard from anyone. I will take a pic tomorrow and you can have another look. I am unable to tell myself but I am leaning towards growth which I guess is good too. Wish it was a spike though

    Here are a few more that I managed to take before the light went. I really can't tell myself as I have never had one of these before but maybe you can tell. I think that I will need to wait a while before it is big enough to say for sure but here goes:

    I would guess it is a growth and not a spike.

    Don't be sad. A new growth means a new place for a spike to develop. AND of course - I could be totally wrong about it being a new growth.

    Well a growth is good but a spike is super! I am actually just really happy that it did something. I thought that these were hard to care for but I have achieved something with it even if it's not what I really wanted. I shall keep you informed...
