My blooming Phals, NoID:s and ID:s

Hello there!

I just wanted to share some pictures of the bloomers I have at the moment. All pictures were taken today, except one. Unfortunately the skies were overcast, giving the photos a less than cheerful tone. Hopefully you will like them anyway.

The first one out of my oldies is my Little Emperor look-alike, which I've had for five-seven years. The spike is still growing as you can see it peeking over the petal of the flower to the left in the picture.


The second of my oldies. It has three flowers but it's a bit hard to tell due to the angle in which I took the picture.


The third oldie and one of my absolute favourites. A little peloric NoID I came across in the local supermarket!


A not so old oldie, I've had it for two-three years and I'm now trying to find an ID for it.

Thanks BD! Alas, the last one posted is not an equestris, but it definitely has equestris in its parentage somewhere. I'll post more pictures of my bloomers (I ran out of allowed attached images per post ) and I have two equestris in bloom so you can compare them.

Here comes four more of my bloomers!


This is the second of my two-three years that I purchased together with my white/pink NoID and it looks a lot like a Dtps. I-Hsin Black Jack.


This is a mini Phal I purchased approximately a month ago. I haven't been able to track down its ID yet.


Here's another one I bought recently, about two months ago. It's a NoID even though the sticker on the pot says 'Black Glamour', but there is no Phal or Dtps. hybrid registered under that name, so it's a NoID.


These are my only blooming species Phals at the moment, equestris one and two.

And the flower parade continues!

Here comes a pic of the only primary hybrid I have at the moment, a P. Wiganiae (schilleriana x stuartiana) that I purchased two months ago.


This is my most recent Phal, it's a Dtps. Queen Beer 'Tiny Doll'. I counted the flowers today and it has 48 (!) tiny flowers. If it hadn't had such a bad case of bud blast after the trip home and after being re-potted, it would have had closer to 60 flowers...

And finally we have my P. Snow Cloud. It was ID:d recently, but I'm still a bit uncertain as to whether it really is a Snow Cloud or not. I'll see if I can get it confirmed.

PS: The general rule here is to post new topics (each different orchid) in its own thread. That way, when you are someone else is looking to find that particular orchid plant, the search will work for it. In posts where the title is generic, it is hard to really search for a specific orchid. I would encourage you, in the future, to post individual plants in their own threads with the name of the orchid as the title.

Aha, did I miss reading that? I'm very sorry! I should have divided the NoID:s and the ID:s then.

I'll keep that in mind till next time.
