Hello
I bought a beautiful dark pink miltonipsis in the beginning of March. It had 5 spikes, about 20 buds. after a week or so, all the buds blasted one by one. the plant looked fine otherwise so I put i thought it might have cought a cold in the open market place. After a week I decided to change the original pot (plastic) to ceramic. to my surprise all the roots were rotted, with the exception of a few on the surface. so i cut off the dead roots, took a smaller pot, with coco fiber drenched in a light solution of fertilizer (N:P:K-8:1:1), and then put the bottom half of the plant and pot in a transparent plastic bag (to creat a more humid microclimat), I looked for the warmest spot in the house (in turned out to be on my windowsil, in the kitchen, behind the refrigerator- which was giving up heat, around 25 C), I misted it 2-3 times a day.
During warm, sunny days I put it outside in the afternoon sun for a few hours a day.
so now after about a month, when I checked carefully its roots, it has a few small about 5mm new white roots, and to my surprise it is sending out 2 flower spikes. I don't know if it is my merit, or the spikes were allready there as wery small dormant buds, but I am happy about it
so that is my story
keep you posted with the progress
