Paph Glaucopyllum ('Birchwood x 'Y")

I grow a few paphs. in an area that has good light for that purpose. This is the first sequential bloomer that I have grown. The bloom you see is the fourth bloom. As you can see at least two more buds are developing. Each bloom has lasted approximately one month. This orchid just keeps blooming!! My lack of experience in growing paphs almost cost me these blooms. When the first bud developed it was tight to the leaf and almost black in color. I thought the bud was dirt and tried to remove it with tweesers. Luckily, I was unsuccessful and the bud was tough.

That's a very beautiful glaucophyllum. This particular paph will keep on blooming sequentially for months. However I've never had 2 blooms at a time.

catttan wrote that he had never had two blooms at one time. My experience had been exactly the same. Interestingly, a bloom whould hold it's form and color until less than 24 hours before a new bloom opened. In a very short period of time the existing bloom would fade and fall just as the new bloom opened. For the first time I have two blooms at the same time. Thus far the older bloom has held for three days.
