Default The roof overhang ranting thread.

If it weren't for YOU, useless roof overhang, my plants would be receiving an extra 1-1.5 hours of valuable sunlight every day. I hope you are quite satisfied with yourself.

Anyone who's annoyed by the same thing, raise a glass.

It's a double edge sword for me, I hate that it blocks the rain but it does offer shade for my orchids.

Here in Yuma, Arizona, we cheer ANYTHING that provides shade.

Been to a few places in Arizona and I was definitely praying for shade each time!

Funny, down here in Florida we feel the same way about shade. It applies to parking lots too. The most popular parking spot at any store during a hot Florida summer is not next to the door, it's under a tree.

Actually, I did basic training June/July in San Antonio, and tech school just down the road in August. Try that in wool socks, combat boots, long pants and long sleeves...lol. Some people passed out from it. You all definitely have the heat on down there! I can attest to that.

Last summer we spent something crazy like 60 consecutive days in the 100's.

100's?? It's not hot here till it's over 110... But it's a dry heat! (And that makes us all feel better.)
