Neo. falcata x Paraphalaenopsis serpentilingua - Help

Well mine is in bud right now for the1st time.It was given to me back in 3-2007.I hang it high in the greenhouse so you can see it gets plenty of light by the purple along the plant 'stem'. In the summer it's outdoors here on L.I. under tall trees.I'll post a pic when it blooms (if the buds do not blast

This stupid plant of mine is large, dark purple and the offset is as large as the mother. I will mention that it is a S-L-O-W grower. It hangs in vanda light and has yet to bloom. Possibly they have a distinct bloom season? I'm going to check mine this weekend to see if there might (fingers and toes crossed) be the possibility of a spike?

Cathy perhaps its too warm at your place. I too have a Neofinetia x Vanda Miss Joachim which I got already blooming at the WOC 2011 in Singapore and has been happily growing since Dec. last year, but it has not bloomed for me yet. But it should bloom in warm weather since the nursery I got it from is from Singapore. I cannot figure out these Neo crosses. My Neo x Rhynchostylis gigantea is also doing rather poorly.

I'm not great with these either, Amey. I don't even look at them in the nurseries.

I only have one Neo cross, it finally bloomed after it's mounted and hanging under a tree. I am not expert, but you might grow it a little drier and cooler to see if it would bloom.

Most flowers have now opened.I was expecting a little more colour but the lip is very pale pink as you can probably see.Sorry I don't have a better camera.I'll try another when I get the time.

I'm sure you would say fairly dry there in Fla but in the summer I water every day when really hot but usually every other day normally.Of course when it rains ,I have no control . When back in the greenhouse in Fall.I water only 2 or 3 x a week.I have it in a medium bark & perlite, which I just add periodically as it disappears.I'm charging my better Sony camera to see if it will give me a better,clearer flower pic but I don't think I'll get around to it today as I have to go out to visit grandson in Hospital as he severely broke his leg climbing a fence to get a basketball.He's 6'3" 240.Dr. says he still hasn't finished growing! He just turned 15 the end of May.
