Nice Buy & nice pics!
I think I see more buds? I am still patiently waiting for mine to flower.. leaves and roots growing all the time..
Mine is in bud right now...you got one nice plant there! I'd be visiting that market on a regular basis. lol
*sigh* Lovely flower but not one I ever foresee having .... just lack the space it would require.
ahaha... the market actually is a special one and only during sundays. you've got local farmers there selling their produce...veggies, fruits, plants of any sorts, philippine orchids, foods, cooked foods, clothes, etc. i believe jim cootes visits the market when he's in the philippines.
btw, it was actually a right timing for me since it's been almost half a year i have not visited the market. it's the first time i saw someone selling this orchid in that market. the vendor has with him several cuttings of different sizes and a huge, massive, monster plant in driftwood that he's selling for 75,000 pesos (~$1,786). i settled for a cutting with that 1 bloom of course. i hope someone from this forum from my country visited the market yesterday and captured a photo...it was really awesome!!! jaw dropping trichoglottis brachiata. wow how many years would it take to grow my plant like that?
thanks! you must have a really good eye there. i'll check it once i arrive home. if indeed looks like i have to bring the plant outside to encourage it to put out those buds.i'm not sure though if the current condition is right as we have strong rains for almost a week now.
What a fine trichoglottis orchid flower. So dark and pretty.
cheers,
