I've heard of iguanas being called "chicken of the trees".
My aunt in Boca Grande has had terrible issues with iguanas invading her attic. They literally destroyed it.

love the little lizards,don't like iguanas, even though I have seen some that are beautiful in coloring and markings. Our local news did a story when we started getting overrun with them in our area. They said they are very territorial and the adult iguana can kill a small dog with a whack of its tail, which I guess is the way it defends itself, and my 2 girls ,both small,, would attack Godzilla if it showed up in my yard.Then the story got stange, they said if bitten by one not to try and pull it off because their teeth are designed to do more damage coming off the bite area,you are supposed to drive to a hospital with the iguana still attached, yeah right! To get rid of an unwanted iguana they said to put it in your freezer, yeah right, is that before or after you're bitten. I love nature, love animals, but with pythons, boas and giant lizards, enough is enough. God made machetes for a reason
