The yellowing is not the problem, its natural ageing, But it turning black definitely is. My guess would be that it got some small wound during your repotting and it became the source for the entry of the infection, add to that the warm humid conditions and you have the recipe for rot. I would spray a systemic and if it gets squishy just cut away the bulb, but not yet until it is firm.
