Lady Gaga has a classy style ? I have never seen it .
Madonna by the way is classic and timeless .
Paphs look like shoes and phrags look like ball sacs and the stanhopea looks like it was found on some distant planet .
Having said all that , like some my knowledge is quite limited in the orchid arena . This is just my opinion on looks if we are going for regal and stuff I would not choose paphs or phrags or stanhopea for that matter . If we are looking at the whole plant then cyms or zygopetalums are quite enjoyable to look at for me . Just my humble opinion .

One has a classic look , two is tasteful but three is washed up actress , sorry . Don't get me wrong I am a fan of some of her music , but you can't just jump on Madonna and call her old news .
I am not the biggest Madonna fan and I don't know why I'm the one defending her when my girl Tamara is one of her biggest fans (jump in here at any moment T ) , but I believe Madonna has stood the test of time . She is still beloved all over the world and barring this recent booby issue she doesn't go too overboard trying to win peoples love and adoration IMHO .
To your credit though these pics are the best that I have ever seen of her .

Eh, Madonna is just a mean-spirited, hateful woman. There's nothing likable about her, and though she still has a hardcore fanbase after all these years, music speaks louder than fans...and her albums post 1998 have ranged from mediocre to awful. Hardly standing the test of time! Unless by that you mean she's still able to stand up and dance without turning into a pile of dust and bitterness.

I see her more as a bulbo--flamboyant lines, bizarre shapes, occasionally emitting the unexpected odor of unrefridgerated flank steak. . .

I think I see a new thread coming..."If you were an orchid, which one would YOU be...and why?" It could be the "Cosmo poll" of the orchid forum! I can see it now...a fun (yet oversimplified) questionnaire, followed by an analysis that goes as follows:

"If you checked mostly A's, then you're a conformer. You don't like to push boundaries or stand out from the crowd. You're a traditional purple or white phal or a mass-market phal hybrid. If you're mostly "B's," you think outside of the box a little, but for the most part, you still want to be accepted. You're a dendrobium nobile or phalaenopsis-type den. If you checked mostly "C's," you have a slightly offbeat sense of style and like to push the envelope a little, but you still want to relate to the majority. You are an antelope dendrobium or funky oncidium hybrid. If you checked mostly "D's," appearance is VERY important to you...you like to "dress to impress." You are the life of the party, and everyone loves you. You're a ruffly Cattleya or a showy Miltoniopsis. Admittedly, this "personality test" would be a bit more complicated than the traditional girly-magazine ones with simple categories of A, B, C and D. But it would still be a super-fun survey!

Is a century plant supposed to be some sort of insult? They are elegant and beautiful in their own right even while they can be tough and, yes, even viscious. And they are enduring ... hence "century" plant.

The first pic of Gaga you posted Kelly almost makes it for elegant -- the tatts ruin it though. The second is tasteful. But I fully agree with Nicole -- that third one has nothing classy or elegant about it. "Washed up actress" sums that one up. And the fourth was just plain awful.

Never have cared much for the extreme floofy catts. I find the catts with simpler lines to be much more elegant.
