Oncidium Sharry Baby (?) starting spike

I really ain't sure if this Oncidium is a Sharry Baby or not (I thought she was but on another forum someone told me she wasn't), but the flowers smell heavenly. I bought her in bloom and after blooming the new growth se had started growing steadily. Unpatient as I am, today I took the outer leafs of this new growth (that is starting to fatten up into a bulb) apart to discover this...

Besides this spike, she's also growing three new growths. I hope they all mature at the same time. Here's a picture from when I bought her in bloom. Do you think it's a Sharry Baby, or not (not that it matters much to me knowing her name or not)?

Here's what my Sharry Baby looks like. The petals are a little fatter than yours. Smells good, though!

Probably a Oncidium Sharry Baby. When it blooms you will know because it will have a fragrance that is unmistakable.

Today I took apart the leaves on the other side and there's a spike forming as well. Now begins the toughest part, waiting for blooms. The ones of you who have gone through this before, how long will I have to wait?

Mine has 10 spikes and it took a few months for them to bloom, some are still opening.

Ten spikes!!! On how many pseudobulbs? Not on one, I suppose?

Looks a bit different from mine as well. Maybe a different clone? My Oncids make me wait FOREVER for blooms. Seems that Sharry Baby takes the longest but I'm sure that's because I am so excited to have that wonderful scent filling the room!

Congratulations on the spikes. It most likely is one of the many Sharry Baby crosses out there. As Bruce said you will definately know from the scent. As far as bloom time it will take several months and then that can depend on light and temps----as well as the variety. Am anxious to see your pics when it does bloom.

mine took all summer to mature and bloom. but i really do love it! flowers lasting about a month, but should drop soon. i would like to say maybe this is a cross of sharry baby and something else? but it could be a sharry baby type i have not seen yet.
