I didn't see many orchids in Delhi, but if you get to travel south you will see some amazing orchids. The best place of all the places I visited in India for orchids was in Kerala. Orchids were growing in all the huge old trees everywhere. That said, it is a long way from Delhi but the ocean is stunning.

Now if only you could visit Amey's place - I bet you could see some amazing orchids. I don't know how far Pune, India is from Delhi, but that would be a cool trip too.

    cheers,
    BD

I wish I could visit Amey's place, I have been to Pune and it is about a 3 hour drive to Pune from Delhi. I am sure I will be back to southern India in the future, I may be headed to Bangalore next year.

Miller, Pune is 1442 kms from Delhi, I am not sure which car you were driving LOL. You are most welcome to my place if you would like to see my orchids. It is 1.5 hours by flight. I am also not aware of any orchid places close to Delhi, it has a very hot and dry climate not conducive for orchids, winters are very cold. There is a world famous cactus garden in Delhi. Beware, Delhi and Gurgaon are full of pick-pockets.

That sounds about right, Mumbai is the capital of my state Maharashtra, about 200 kms away, so it could be the city you drove from.
