I remember showing this a year ago ( can't find the post - maybe they get deleted after a year) but memory says it had one very good spike - far mor flowers than on any spike here - but then, this year there are 4 spikes, two per bulb ; you can't have everything. But great progressin the year, if I do say so myself.
May catch the judges eye at the Brirish Orchid Congress in a week's time - will just be in the peak opf condition for that I think . Probably about 40 flowers by then - the spikes all have 10-=12 flowers and buds on them.

I thought mine would surely die from the bugs it had on it this spring so I threw it under the bamboo tree. It has returned stronger and blooming a single spike this time. I love those tiny flowers. Maybe mine will grow better now that the bugs are gone...yours is lovely! I'll just stare at your pics till mine rebounds.

Bugs are funny things Connie ; I guess I am lucky that none round here have any taste for Howeara. But as an example of "funny" - I have absolutely zero problem with very small aphis - they are common in the garden - no one can grow beans without treating the blackfly (black aphis), and the green sort cover every new shoot on my roses, until I get at them with Roseclear or something, but never a one in the greenhouse. But now I have started growing Masdevalias again, and here are aphis, on the flower spikes of some ( not all) species . They are easily wiped off - finger and thumb, or a quick spray - but where did they come from ? Same with mealy bug ; no problem, no mealy bug. But bring a phally ( a clean, non-infected phally) ino the greenhouse, and what do we get ? mealybug. IO think the ancients had it right - they generate spontaneously, just like swallows do in the mud at the bottom of ponds ( or so they believed).

Nice! I saw one recently that wanted but put it back quickly when I saw the pricetag! I should know by now not to look at orchids in a florists shop...Spanish moss and artfully arranged twigs sell at high prices.
