Who the do you think is doing the science? We just happen to be living in an inconvenient time when the systematics (the standards by which species and genera are differentiated) are changing from morpholoy (the form and structure of plants) to genetics and genome analysis. What we do is horticulture, not science, so if the science is inconvenient for us, I really don't think the scientists will lose any sleep.Originally Posted by PetSlayer
Whaaaaaaat?What happens to the world nowadays, since when a bunch of old ladies that are there because it's posh are deciding about REAL science? Science is that thing, ya know, with ppl in white coats spending endless hours working with stinky stuff, doing PCRs and western blotts and what not and looking at things in uv light. Science should be left to academics that are good at it. Systematics works perfectlly, I really don't get it. I mean...even I can spot the differences and I am not a botanist. Vandas my bum
