Also a few days ago this one popped again. BLC Tainan Gold 'Canary'... The first Cattleya I ever got to bloom. Well to be honest, it just does its thing- none of my doing at all: most Cattleyas are very kind to me! I think they take pity on a clown.

great photo and blooms
Pretty. I like that red stripping. I also do well with Cattleya orchids.
There are definitely some of the cattleya that seem to just love to bloom often and others that begrudge a person a single flower at a time. To have such a lovely floofie in the "likes to bloom nicely" category is such a wonderful thing! I love the yellow and red color on yours. I've been looking for a nice yellow/red cattleya for awhile. I think your form would win a prize...very pretty!
Awesome Catt! Great photo as well! Large flowers Im guessing...

What an amazing bloom well done.
Thanks Blanca. Catts really are good value.
Hi Connie! Yes at first I thought"Wow Catts are just the best: they just give give give!" But as you say I have since dicovered some are not that generous. It seems to be the bifoliates that I have to keep my fingers crossed for- I never know if they are going to condescend to bloom this time!
O and Connie, thanks for your remarks- so kind. You know I never looked at it that way. Pity I had to miss yesterday's meeting of the Orchid Soc of GB: I was thinking of taking it to the show table as a "not for competition" exhibit. O well. Maybe next year!
