Lc. Loog Ton my first love :)

There is one plant that reblooms for you and ignites your love for this hobby and hooks you on to it permanently. For me this role has been played by Lc. Loog Ton. It is one of my very first orchids, I got it from Singapore in June 2005, it was a 3 pseudobulb division flowering, for the packing and transport the blooms had to be cut. But it again bloomed for me in Nov. 2005, the joy of re-blooming it made me want more orchids. Now it is one very big plant flowering on multiple growths, and is my favourite of all.

There were 5 flowers on three growths each making 15 flowers, but 5 on one withered as they had bloomed some 15 days earlier.

Wow Amey , I see your plants are really happy now that you are home. Your Looq Ton looks stunning. Your plant looks as if it is growing into a specimen plant. Mine is barely surviving.

My Lc. Loog Ton says thank you to everyone for praising it hehe. It is becoming orangish day by day.

Yew I want it to grow into a specimen plant, I have not divided since I got it when it had just 3 pseudobulbs, now it has 21 after 5 years. It still has retained those old bulbs, without leaves but green.

Thank you so much for the steer Amey! Wow, yes Lc Loog Ton is just my thing: crisp and shapely with attractive colours. To my surprise, I discovered that smaller flowered catts are more to my liking- cuter I guess. And this one is about as fine a red/yellow as I can imagine. The clear warm yellow and bright solid red... and then the subtle distal streaks and sprinkles adding an orange glow to the segments... perfection! So many cheery little faces...

It is true that my BLC Tainan Gold 'Canary' does the big loud frilly thing really well and with style, competition standard- but your Loogie is simply more beautiful. (I feel unfaithful for saying so, but I cannot lie about these things!)
