i got this in the mail last night. it has 6 growths, all with leaves. it is in a 3.5" pot. smells like soil when i water it, but not sure what it is really in. does not need repotting yet, so i might hold off. i eventually hope to put this into a tree fern pot. this should grow outdoors here. i've been seeing these all over the place on the internet, and finally broke down and got one. the listing showed nice red flowers. maybe the photo showed the 'red chimney' variety, but i don't know for certain. there are some new growths coming up. one seems to be a leaf growing. it is off set from the other bulbs a little. one is wedged between 2 older bulbs, so maybe a flower spike? not sure until it gets bigger. there is another budding from the side of a bulb, but that one looks like it is drying up and failing... again, not sure... but that one might have been flowers??? not sure how these grow, but i cannot wait to learn more about it and see these new growths develope. this was my reward for flowering a few stapelias this summer. they are not orchids, but their flowers are stinky, so i thought this was appropriate.
