I am thinking it is probably one of those difficult to grow Cattleyas: there is a group of species, mainly browns and lavenders I think, that tend to spell trouble. But it may be totally ok: I would give it a go! Thanks for sharing.

Isn't it though! And d'you know (I can't have looked at it properly till just now) : those lateral lobes of the lip are mighty peculiar- don't know any other catts with that lip feature... maybe I should take a closer look at the brown/lavender bifoliates to see if there is something akin to these protracted lobes. (I expect there is a more technical term for that little group of species that includes aclandiae et al...)
