Hi everyone! I'm new here. I have a question about my phalaenopsis. I purchased four new ones about a year ago from my local supermarket. They all had spikes full of flowers. The flowers later dropped and I cut back the spikes down to about one inch above the base of the stem. I kept watering and fertilizing them about once every week to 10 days. They all produced two or more new leaves between March and October. On October 1, as the weather cooled, I brought them all home (I keep them under lamps in my office) and let them sit outside for about 30 days to stimulate new flower spikes. I brought them back to my office about 2 weeks ago and put them back under their lamps. I've been looking for new spikes ever since, but so far no sign of anything except a couple of new roots (I've confirmed they are roots and not spikes due to their rounded tip, pointing downward, etc.). I've looked everywhere I can think of online but I've found nothing that explains how long it should take a new flower spike to appear once the plant has been exposed to colder temps. Any thoughts?
