Paph In-Charm confusion. Help!

Hi folks! On impulse I bought a Paph In-Charm off an auction site. I fell in love with the pretty flower; the vendor provided this picture:



I'm extremely confused as to the parentage of this plant. When I went digging online for the grex name, I couldn't find any plants labeled as just 'In-Charm.' Instead, they all had titles like In-Charm Alma Bell or In-Charm Canary. The parents seemed to be all over the map. One was listed as 'Mount Toro' x armeniacum. Another was 'La Honda x spicerianum.'

Could someone tell me what the parents are for just a plain Paph In-Charm? I'm finding this one to be extremely confusing.

I have a bad feeling about this. This guy has gotten some negative reviews, and some people have left feedback stating they've had to fight with him to get their money back after receiving dead plants. But the picture looked good (he had a pic of the actual plant in addition to the bloom pic), so I thought that the worst that could happen was that I'd have to re-root the thing if it showed up with bad roots but good foliage. And it was SO cheap that I couldn't pass it up.

But now I've got that sinking feeling that I've made a bad purchase...

Ironically, this seller only lives about half an hour from me. I actually contacted him after I bought the plant to see if I could just drive over and pick it up to save the shipping costs and avoid the possibility of cold damage, and he said no. He does only internet sales. Sounds a bit shady to me.

I know, I know...I should only buy from known, trusted sources. But sometimes I see a great deal that's just too good to pass up. And I don't mind re-rooting a plant; goodness knows I've done that enough times before. But if I can't get the correct name I'm going to be really annoyed.

DRAT.

Well, I guess next time I should do my homework a bit better before buying something that looks too good to be true. I'll contact the seller. If, by the odd chance, he actually DOES know the complete name for the plant, I'll let you know what it is!

In-charm is a Taiwan Paph. specialist nursery . they have registered about a hundred crosses, all using their name as the first part of a compound name, such as P.In-charm Valwin ( which happens to be one I have). You could not name the plant from the picture.
It is one problem with buying feom auction sites , although not confined to them ( I could introduce you to a very good nursery in Italy, who have really excellent plants, at quite reasonable prices, but their names are a quite unreliable. Remember what our (UK) poet and playwright said " whats in a name, a rose would smell as sweet etc..."

Ahhh...well, that explains the confusion with the names. Thanks! I've only recently started getting hung up on names...ever since I started planning on doing some breeding (I'm still in the "planning" stages...LOL), it has seemed like a good idea to keep track of the names of anything I buy, just in case somewhere down the line I would want to use a plant to make a cross.

But you're right...the flower will be just as pretty even if it doesn't have the full name! Although it makes me wonder if the picture is accurate, seeing how this guy doesn't know the full name. The 'In-Charm' crosses have quite a range of appearances...I hope the photo is right! I might be in for quite a surprise... he he!

Ah, well...I shouldn't complain. I only paid $7 for it!

Oh, and I just found your thread with the photo of your In-Charm! Yours is gorgeous!! I love the raspberry color, and anything with a strong presence of niveum in it is gorgeous in my opinion. I love the whites! Yours looks like it's blushing! Beautiful!
