Last year I put about 15phals in semi-hydro
8 of them were suspended, so I had drilled holes in the bottom of the pots anf put the pots in some water
All of them faired well and are now in spike, and are watered every 14 days
the rest of the phals didn't like the initial methos with lateral holes and some water on the bottom of the pot, but recoverd after driling the holes in the bottom. if not placed permanently in water these need wattering at least every 7 days
I lost 2 to root rot, by my obervation thode who are sickly to begin with
and 2 a placed back in bark media
so my conclusins are that for me S/H works, with thw first method drilling holes in the bottom of the pot, put pot in hydrotone
I have green algea in the hydrotone, but since they obscure the bottom part ofthe pot not in the pot itse
so all my phals but 2, that are in S/h are in spike
Can wait to see them bloom
I hope the picture from my S/h from my kicthen are clear enough![]()
